About

The JWYMS Library is a dynamic and progressive setting for information, discovery, creativity, and sharing.  New technology and expanding resources allow students to collaborate and re-invent throughout the school day.

Mission: The James Wilson Young Library Commons serves the informational needs of the entire school community.   The Library Media Specialist collaborates with the classroom teacher to create Common Core State Standards (CCSS)- based units,  lessons, and activities to link classroom curriculum with 21st Century information and inquiry skills.

The Library Media Center/Library Commons contains both print and digital titles of high interest at various reading levels to support both curricular and recreational needs in order to help students become college and career ready. The program focuses on developing students as independent users of information and technology, developing transferable skills for our ever- changing society.

Vision: Students will be able to demonstrate age-appropriate information fluency skills, evolving as a global citizen, and possess the confidence and knowledge to move forward in the 21st century.
